Although Vorwerk is known for the Thermomix Kitchen Robot, the brand offers several types of vacuum cleaners. One of the latest releases in this area is the Kobold VM7 hand vacuum cleaner I have tested in recent weeks. And this was the experience…
What (no) comes in the box
Table of Contents

The vertical box that comes to us, is practically the same size as Kobold VM7 and there is a reason for it.
Here what is included is the vacuum cleaner and nothing more. Yes, there is no loading adapter – as in smartphones. But there is no loading cable either.
By the positive point you can use the USB-C cable and their adapter with which you carry your smartphone. But we would like to have seen at least one loading cable inside the box.
Design and Construction

Firstly, we have to talk about the dimensions of this Kobold VM7. It has 8.7×9.2×45.9 cm and weighs 840 grams. Yes, it is almost a kilo, but in use it seems to have less than 500 grams. It does not weigh and we managed to handle it with agility.
With a blank and a nozzle and catches black, the aesthetics is elegant and gives the intended premium sensation. On the less positive side, I suspect that the white peg will attract powder – especially if it is placed on the wall support, which can be purchased separately.
Kobold VM7 is built on rigid plastic. This is resistant to one or the other “find”, but above all is very comfortable to the touch. The handle, in turn, has a texture zone at the rear. This small detail not only makes use more comfortable, but also safer, as it prevents the hand from slipping.
Use and Power

The new Kobold VM7 hand vacuum cleaner is equipped with an engine without brushes that rotates up to 26,500 revs per minute. It has enough power for small and fast cleaning on less large surfaces – table, car, sofa, for example.
The button that turns on and off the device is well located, and with only one finger we can put this vacuum cleaner. A second touch and we trigger the turbo mode. This practical and simple functioning is very welcome and commendable in equipment that is for quick tasks.

To empty the warehouse, there is also a button on the front. Best of all, a touch of this button ejects the warehouse out, allowing it to be emptied, without the need to touch whatever it is. Also add that this deposit can be washed.
The Kobold VM7 nozzle can also be expanded through a button. In this sense, the width of the nozzle varies between 36 mm (when collected) and 90 mm (when expanded). Once again, it may seem like a detail, but at the time of vacuuming between the sofa pillows, let’s thank the 36 mm. Already making the table crumbs disappear we will also thank the expanded nozzle with 90 mm.
A small screen on the front gives the state of the battery. Three risks indicate fully charged battery; As the battery is consumed, these risks go to two or one. When it is turned on, a friendly “face” smiling, welcomes. This simple and fast code to understand is crucial in this type of equipment.
Noise and Cleaning

In the case of a hand vacuum, the analysis can only be done on its efficiency to clean small surfaces. And in this sense, the Kobold Vm7 shines and leaves the zones where it shines.
It is your “right arm” when eliminating the crumbs on the table and very efficient to clean those of pets on the carpet and sofa (if they have this permission). Its maximum power of 26,500 revolutions per minute – reached in Boost mode – causes dirt to disappear in the blink of an eye.
It is also very good for aspiring car seats and rugs, for example, after a trip involving snacks inside the vehicle. It also works equally well in cabinets or in those corners, to which the largest vacuum cleaner cannot arrive.
As for noise, Vorwerk does not reveal the specific value. It only announces that the Kobold VM7 emits a noise level less than 80 dB. For my experience, it’s silent as it is enough. In Boost mode, it is true that it is heard better, but never with a level of decibels that bother.
Battery and charging

Vorwerk announces that Kobold VM7 has autonomy for 22 minutes in normal aspiration and 15 minutes in Boost mode. From my experience, these values are verified. Being a hand vacuum cleaner for quick and simple cleaning, these are also more than enough times to do all the service at once.
It takes about 2 hours to full. And can be loaded through the wall support; However, it has to be bought separately.
And we came back to what we already said at the beginning, the Kobold VM7 does not include either adapter or loading cable. This is a point to the detriment of this hand vacuum that is very competent in its function. For the positive part, it can be loaded with a smartphone adapter and charging cable.
Who is Kobold Vm7 for?
Due to its specifications and its efficiency in simple and fast cleaning, Kobold VM7 is ideal for:
- Users with children who need all the cleaning tools available to keep the house free of crumbs;
- Pets with pet users who often need to aspire to animal rest areas;
- Users who like to keep the car impeccable with a portable product;
Conclusion

Kobold VM7 is a very efficient hand vacuum cleaner to clean small surfaces. Its nozzle that can be expanded to 90 mm adapts to narrower zones (between the sofa pillows), as well as the larger areas (such as the table, for example).
The quality of construction is robust and its design is elegant with a premium touch. Thanks to the smart button positioning, their use is very practical and functional, as well as being very comfortable to handle.
On the less positive side, it does not include adapter or USB-C charging cable. Loads with smartphone accessories, but still in such equipment and with this value, at least the loading cable should be included. And yes, the value of 199 € is a little high. But competence does not lack.
