Every Carnival has its end and that of Virginia Fonseca – and consequently of Grande Rio – was melancholic. Although the influencer tried to minimize the school’s 8th place, which was unable to even be present at the champions’ parade, behind the scenes at the Caxias school the atmosphere is not the best. So says drum master Fabricio Machado de Lima, who after losing valuable points in the judges’ scores and publishing some criticisms of Virgínia, ended the festivities with his social network closed to comments and with photos deleted.
At the tip of the iceberg, Thainá Oliveira, muse of the association and daughter of the school’s honorary president, Helinho de Oliveira, declared about Carnival 2026: “Unfortunately it didn’t go as expected, but it serves as a learning experience for next year!”.

Regarding Virgínia’s debut as drum queen replacing the iconic Paolla Oliveira, Thainá made a point of clarifying some points that even before Carnival were announced as absolute truths. “It’s a lie that she bought the position [de rainha de bateria]”, he warned. And he added: “It’s a lie that she invested R$15 million.”
Rumors suggested that the partnership between the samba school and the influencer would reach million-dollar figures with the perfume launched by Virgínia – through her company, WePink – under the name of Grande Rio.
