Vincent Allen of Ard na Lí, Oakpark, Tralee, and formerly Ballybunion Co. Kerry, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Vincent, a man of deep-rooted community ties, touched many lives with his warmth and kindness. He was not just a father and husband; he was a brother, a friend, and a member of the larger Ard na Lí and Tralee community. His passing marks the loss of a cherished spirit.

A Beloved Husband and Father

Vincent was a devoted husband to Kay, who stood by his side through every chapter of their life. Together, they built a loving family that grew to encompass seven cherished children: Finbarr, Robert, Leonie, Mark, and Sonya. Vincent’s love for his family was evident in every moment he spent with them, creating memories that will endure for generations to come.

His children recall Vincent’s unwavering commitment to their happiness and upbringing. His influence extended beyond his family, reaching into the hearts of those who knew him. Vincent Allen was a pillar of strength and support in the community, always ready to lend a helping hand.

A Treasured Brother and Community Member

Vincent was the dearest son of the late Kieran and, in his own right, welcomed into a large and loving extended family. He leaves behind a legacy of generosity and compassion that will be sorely missed. His nieces, Karen and Michelle, along with his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and relatives, remember him as a caring and dedicated family man who prioritized the needs and desires of others above his own.

Neighbours and friends speak of Vincent’s kindness and his gentle demeanor, which endeared him to all who crossed his path. His gentle spirit and unwavering respect for others made him a valuable member of his community.

Memorial Services

The celebration of Vincent’s life will begin with a visitation at the Gleasure Funeral Home in Tralee on Tuesday, February 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. Those who wish to pay their respects are encouraged to attend. On Wednesday, February 5, the funeral procession will depart from the Gleasure Funeral Home and arrive at St. John’s Church, Tralee, at 9:30 a.m.

The Requiem Mass for Vincent will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. John’s Church, Tralee. For those who are unable to join the service in person, the ceremony will be streamed live at www.stjohns.ie. Following the service, interment will take place in St. John’s Churchyard Cemetery, Ballybunion.
