Vilnius Substation: Powering Teltonika’s New Factories | Cost & Impact

by Archynetys Economy Desk

Žygimantas Vaičiūnas, Acting Minister of Energy, visited the newly constructed Kuprioniškės Transformers’ Construction Building at the construction site of the Lithuanian electricity transmission system operator Litgrid. The new substation will provide a smooth and efficient power supply to the High-Tech Hill technology park for Teltonika, Tlt and Semikona.

“We are delighted that a new production of high -value value is emerging in Vilnius – it is needed not only for the economy but also for energy. The implementation of this project is a great example of how responsibly and expeditiously develop strategic energy infrastructure and to respond flexibly to industrial needs. Consumption is a prerequisite for the development of renewable energy: the more electricity we have, the more we can integrate the renewable electricity resources, ”says Žygimantas Vaičiūnas, Acting Minister of Energy.

“We are implementing the project of Kuprioniškės substation extremely rapidly, understanding its importance for industrial development-this object will be based on a reliable power supply to the High-Tech Hill technology park. We evaluate constructive cooperation with Teltonika shareholders, which has been coordinated by solutions that have led to the avoidance of newly installed road dismantling, thus achieving both economic and environmental benefits. We can see that the growing demand for the capital and the country’s industry can be coordinated with a quick decision -making and responsible attitude towards urban infrastructure, ”says Karolis Sabaliauskas, Head of Strategic Infrastructure at Litgrid.

Four factories in the High-Tech Hill Technology Park will start their activities in a few weeks. We follow our planned rapid growth pace and clearly see that the rest of the High-Tech Hill project will require all the intended power substation capacity. We currently have a good dialogue with all the sides of the project and we are optimistic that the project can be completed earlier, ”says Arvydas Birds, AGP Investments manager, founder of Teltonika and TLT.

Currently, the cable lines are currently under construction, with all the required quantity of cables, about 6 km of cables from 45 km and 13.5 km from 16.5 km of protective pipes.

The project will be built a new 110 kV switchboard with five reunals, two new 63 MVA transformers and up to 58 MW under the login conditions desired power. The newly laid cable lines are connected from 110 kV airline Vilnius -Vilnius.

Litgrid, together with contractors and customer Teltonika, coordinated solutions to avoid recent roads and sidewalks. The contractor managed to install about 500 meters of protective pipe cables in advance. This solution is an additional step that ensures both economic efficiency and harmony with urban development.

21 February All building permitting documents were obtained in the territories of Vilnius City and Vilnius District due to cable power grids and substation construction projects to connect the High-Tech Hill to connecting 58 MW to electrical networks.

Investment in the construction project of the new electricity transmission network infrastructure will be $ 12.8 million. Eur. It is planned to be connected to the electricity network technology park in August 2027.
