Vigo Street Projects: €3.5M for Carracido & Mondariz

Caballero reported on the approval of the projects to humanize Doctor Carracido and Mondariz streets, as well as the tender for the Manuel Cominges parking lot, in Matamá. The three interventions entail an investment of 4,744,318 euros.

Abel Caballero explained that the improvement of Doctor Carracido street will require an investment of 2,800,000 euros. Humanization plans to improve all pedestrian spaces with the expansion of sidewalks, as well as renewing service networks, pavement, lighting and street furniture, among other works.

The works will be carried out within an estimated period of 12 months, the mayor noted, highlighting that Doctor Carracido Street will have a humanization “to the highest standard in the city.”

Mondariz Street

The humanization works on Mondariz Street, which involve action in a space of 140 meters, will have an investment of 780,000 euros.

The project includes the renewal of the entire pavement, the widening of the sidewalks to facilitate the passage of pedestrians, as well as the creation of quality public spaces in the vicinity of the Seis do Nadal school, the installation of new street furniture and plant elements and the reorganization of the entire parking lot.

“It is going to be a new humanization with great quality in Vigo,” stressed the mayor.

Manuel Cominges Parking

This Friday, the municipal government approved the contracting of the construction works for the parking lot on Manuel Cominges Street in Matamá, in front of the Josefa Alonso school, for 1,164,000 euros. Caballero explained that the parking lot will have 123 parking spaces and 4 spaces for people with reduced mobility. The City Council of Vigo will renew all service and public lighting networks, in addition to creating new garden areas.
