On Saturday, March 7, 2026, there will be closures on the Ringstrasse in Vienna due to two demonstrations. The ÖAMTC warns of significant delays from 2:30 p.m. – several access roads are also affected.
On Saturday, March 7, 2026, drivers in Vienna must expect massive traffic disruptions. According to ÖAMTC mobility information, the Ringstrasse will be temporarily closed from around 2:30 p.m. due to two demonstrations.
In addition to the Ringstrasse, numerous adjacent streets and important access routes to the city center are also affected.
Bicycle demo starts in Sigmund Freud Park

The first demonstration is a “bicycle demonstration on the occasion of Feminist Day”. It starts at 2:30 p.m. at Sigmund Freud Park.
The route leads, among other things:
- Schottengasse
- Downtown
- He had covered
- Ring road (against the direction of travel)
- Landstraßer Hauptstrasse
According to the ÖAMTC, the end point is Robert Hochner Park at around 4 p.m.
From Julius-Raab-Platz onwards, the Ringstrasse may be temporarily closed.
Construction work is making the situation worse
Current construction work is also making the situation more difficult:
- Vordere Zollamtsstrasse is closed in the direction of Heumarkt.
- Hintere Zollamtsstrasse is closed in both directions.
The ÖAMTC therefore recommends avoiding large areas during the demonstrations.
Second demo from 4.15 p.m. at Parliament
The second rally entitled “Hands Off Iran – anti-war demonstration against the attack on Iran” begins at around 4:15 p.m.
The start is at Parliament. The route leads via:
- Ringstrasse
- Schottengasse
- Währinger Straße
The planned end is around 6 p.m. in Boltzmanngasse.
Where traffic jams are to be expected
According to the ÖAMTC traffic experts, delays are to be expected here in particular:
- Ringstrasse
- Line of two
- Karlsplatz
- Schwarzenbergplatz
- all access roads to the Ringstrasse
- Landstraßer Hauptstrasse
- Franz-Josefs-Kai
- Lower Donaustraße
Commuters should plan more time or use public transport.
