Veracruz MMA Fighters Selected for Youth World Cup

Five young martial artists from Veracruz are set too represent Mexico at the upcoming MMA Youth World Cup, taking place in Abu dhabi, Arab Emirates, from July 20 to 27. Agustín Guzmán Arellano, president of the Gulf Mixed Martial Arts Association, announced the exciting news, highlighting the dedication and hard work of the athletes and their coaches.

The athletes selected for the National Team are josé Martín Morales Vera, Sergio Esteban Guzmán Becerra, Jana Camila Ocadio Martínez, José Gabriel Rodríguez Carmona, and Melissa Zuasti Vásquez. These young fighters have demonstrated remarkable skill and commitment,earning them a place on the prestigious national team.

“We are very happy for this news,” said Guzmán Arellano. “It is a very great effort of all teachers, the entire organization of the State, and it is the result; for the first time, we will have cinco youth boys.” He emphasized the importance of this achievement, underscoring the collective effort of coaches and the state organization in nurturing these young talents.

High Hopes for the Mexican Team

Guzmán Arellano expressed optimism for the Mexico Selection, which will consist of approximately 25 athletes and 10 coaches.He believes that the team will perform exceptionally well on the international stage. “We hope that the Mexico Selection, with approximately 25 athletes, 10 coaches, it will be a very good National Team; con cinco Veracruz this is incredible, thanks to the work that is done all these years, and we hope that the boys play a great role,” he stated.

“We are very happy for this news… for the first time we will have cinco youth boys.”

He further added that the Veracruz athletes possess a high level of technical expertise, honed through participation in various municipal, state, and regional tournaments. Their rigorous training and competitive experience have prepared them well for the challenges ahead.

Veracruz Athletes’ Solid Foundation

“There are boys who are already World Cups, Pan American medalists and are very solid in their work,” Guzmán Arellano noted. “The coaches have done incredible job and is part of the advancement.” He emphasized the solid foundation these athletes have built, with some already having experience in international competitions and earning medals.

Guzmán Arellano also extended his gratitude to the Federation for everything the support it has provided to the state of Veracruz. “part of this is that we currently have cinco boys at the highest level and who will put in the name of our state and that of Mexico, very high,” he concluded, acknowledging the crucial role of the federation in the development of these athletes.
