Venezuela Oil: US Control & Trump’s Decision

by Archynetys World Desk

“We will make a decision on which oil companies will enter [Venecuēlā]that we’re going to let them in, that we’re going to make a deal with these companies,” Trump said during a White House meeting with the heads of major oil companies.

He noted that there were no security guarantees for foreign oil companies during Maduro‘s rule.

“But now you have complete security. This is a completely different Venezuela,” Trump added.

Trump also said that oil companies would do business with the US government, not Venezuela, when developing Venezuelan oil fields.

“You’re going to do business directly with us, you’re not going to do business with Venezuela at all, we don’t want you to do business with Venezuela,” Trump said during a meeting at the White House.

The Trump administration had announced after Maduro’s capture and extradition to the United States that it would indefinitely control the sale of Venezuelan oil.
