The flagship location of Ba Le Deli & Bakery on Kingsway in Vancouver is set to close its doors on June 22 after serving the community for over 37 years due to upcoming construction.
Another longstanding restaurant in Vancouver has announced its closure. Ba Le deli & Bakery will be closing its flagship location after 37 years of operation.
Thomas Vu, co-owner of Ba le Deli & Bakery, announced that the location at 701 Kingsway in Vancouver will be closing.
“Our flagship Ba Le Deli & bakery location – serving the community for the past 37 years – is preparing to close its doors for the final time due to upcoming construction on the site,” said Vu.
Ba Le first opened in 1987 after Hue and trinh Le immigrated to canada and opened their first location. Since then, the banh mi destination has expanded throughout Metro Vancouver, serving banh mi and coffee.
“This spot has been a vancouver staple for generations, and while it’s a bittersweet moment, we’re grateful for the memories and support from our loyal customers over the years,” Vu added.
Ba Le Kingsway’s last day of operation will be June 22, and Vu said that they plan to celebrate its legacy with the community on that day.
Other Ba Le locations in and around vancouver will remain open.
