ALTA VAL SUSA – The outcome of the 2025 Snow Notice was presented on Wednesday 3 December at the Piedmont Region Skyscraper.
The Municipalities of the Vialattea area (Cesana, Sestriere, Sauze d’Oulx, Claviere) have been allocated approximately 5 million euros, out of the total 50 million euros put on the table by the Piedmont Region. The most important news is the funding for the reopening of the Chiomonte-Frais chairlift, after years of abandonment: the Municipality will receive a contribution of 720,450 euros.
In the province of Turin, 13.5 million euros were disbursed, divided as follows:
– VALSUSA AREA
CESANA TORINESE: 3.6 million for the general overhaul of the systems.
SESTRIERE AND SAUZE D’OULX: 1,755,000 million for general overhaul of public systems.
CHIOMONTE: 720,450 euros for the overhaul of the Chiomonte-Frais chairlift and seasonal adjustment interventions.
CLAVIERE: 135,000 euros for the creation of a Claviere-Via Lattea baby carpet covering.
– OTHER SKI AREAS IN TURIN:
ALA DI STURA E BALME: 1.9 million for the restructuring and diversification project of the infrastructure and tourist offer.
USSEGLIO AND VIU’: 1.4 million for the general overhaul of the chairlift and ski lift and expansion of the pumping station, with snowmaking on the tubby slope and carpet replacement.
TRAVERSELLA: 1 million euros for the redevelopment and deseasonalisation of Palit’s tourist offer.
PRALI: 941 thousand euros for general overhauls of Malzat – Pian Alpet and Pian Alpet – Bric Rond chairlifts.
VALPRATO SOANA: 874,900 euros for the redevelopment project of skiable areas in the Piamprato area.
LOCANA: 508,939 euros for the development of the ski area.

THE DISAPPOINTMENT OF THE OLYMPIC MUNICIPALITIES OF ALTA VALSUSA
“For the Olympic Municipalities, Via Lattea is certainly not a nice surprise – writes the Municipality of Sauze d’Oulx in a note – since the two districts of Vialattea and Bardonecchia alone account for over 65% of winter tourist arrivals in the whole of Piedmont”.
The funds from the Snow 2025 tender are added to another 5 million that Sestrieres Spa will invest to cover 50% of the projects admitted as per the tender.
In the Vialattea area there will be a twenty-year review of the facilities created for the 2006 Turin Olympics, of the Clotes chairlift in Sauze d’Oulx and of the Pragelato-Sestriere cable car. Also present at the meeting were the mayor of Sauze d’Oulx Mauro Meneguzzi, the mayor of Cesana Torinese Daniele Mazzoleni, the mayor of Claviere Simona Radogna, the mayor of Sauze di Cesana Federico Maroccco.
