From April 1 to 30, the boutique “Le Grenier de Louise”, located at 13 rue de la République, opens its doors to the artistic world of Moissagaise painter Laure Baudry.
An exhibition that promises color, spontaneity and poetry, in a place already well known to lovers of vintage objects and original discoveries.
Trained in 2009 at the Castres School of Fine Arts, where she learned about drawing, sculpture and painting and different pictorial techniques, Laure Baudry then continued her career in contemporary painting with Jacques Tison, in Montbeton, then Marie-Edmée Seguin, in Moissac. In 2020, she took the plunge and devoted herself fully to her artistic practice by becoming a professional painter.
His work, mainly done with acrylic paint on canvas, is distinguished by a lively palette and strong expressiveness. At the same time, the artist develops a more experimental approach by mixing mixed techniques: collage, painting and pastel intersect to give birth to sensitive and singular works, where emotion and freedom of execution occupy a central place.
More recently, in 2024, she turned to papier-mâché sculpture during training with Claire Couffin. From this exploration was born the “Birds” series, inspired by birds, a theme dear to the artist. “As a teenager, I wanted to be an ornithologist. This passion has never left me. Birds come back naturally in my work, in painting as well as in volume,” she confides. Creations that bring a touch of cheerfulness and lightness, especially in interiors or children’s rooms.
Working with a brush, a knife, a cloth or even a finger, Laure Baudry favors a free and intuitive approach. Influenced by painters from the end of the 19th century, she pays particular attention to the material and the touch, giving her paintings depth and presence.
Seduced by this pop, colorful and naive universe, Philippe and Laurent, owners of Grenier de Louise, wanted to welcome the artist in order to introduce his work to the Valencian public and to energize local cultural life through this type of initiative.
The opening of the exhibition will be held on Saturday April 4 from 5:30 p.m. A meeting open to all, ideal for discussions with the artist.
