The file of the man accused last week of sexual contacts in the wave swimming pool of the Village Vacances Valcartier could well increase. The public prosecutor said Monday to wait for investigation files for seven other potential complainants against Carl Giroux.

The 46 -year -old accused returned to court on Monday for the presentation of a request on his ability to undergo his trial, filed by the Crown.
It is on the sidelines of this procedure that Me Mélanie Tremblay said it was awaiting police denunciations for new complainants following the media coverage of Carl Giroux’s file. The Sûreté du Québec notably erected a command post in parking the Village Vacances Valcartier last Wednesday to collect new information.

“Files will be submitted to me and disclosure is expected in connection with seven other potential victims,” said the prosecutor. The latter must analyze everything in the coming days to determine whether or not new accusations will be brought.
Recall that the accused appeared last week for accusations of sexual assault and sexual contact with regard to three complainants. Two of them are under the age of 16, while the last one is 18 years old.
The facts for the moment accused of Giroux would have occurred between July 26 and August 16.
“Bizarre” behaviors
The procedure for assessing the accused’s ability also made it possible to know a little more about the gestures alleged against him, on the circumstances of these, as well as his arrest.
Me Tremblay explained that the complainants and witnesses said that Carl Giroux “pitched” the world and had bizarre behaviors. Several people have described him as “drunk or drugged”, adding that he “was not normal”.

In tears, the accused explained that he was bathed in the wave pool with his spouse and that “we revolve from one edge and the other”. His lawyer, Me Rosemary Turgeon, then cut him off, reminding him of not approaching the facts of the cause since he is still presumed innocent.
Arrested by a security agent from the water park, Giroux would then have refused to leave the pool, before getting carried away by repeating several times to be a police officer. He would also have made disjointed remarks on “the 1971 association law”.
These are the words and acts, in addition to information from Carl Giroux relatives on personal difficulties and alcohol consumption, which led the public prosecutor to request that the accused be assessed.
Apte
However, after having questioned him on Monday, judge Marie-Claude Gilbert determined that the individual, who works in hygiene and sanitation in a Quebec hospital, was entirely able to continue the legal process.
When she asked the defendant what he thought of the request that he was seen by a psychiatrist, he clearly said that he understood what is happening to her.
“I’m correct, I’m just cracked from all this,” he said, visibly emotional.
Giroux, who has no legal history, is still detained while waiting for his survey on release.
