Uterine Cancer Treatment: Best Hospitals & Survival Rates

by Archynetys Health Desk

Researchers analyzed the care and outcomes of 4,178 women who were diagnosed with uterine cancer between 2012 and 2016. These patients were treated in 60 Belgian hospitals. Hospitals that treat a sufficient number of uterine cancer patients each year perform better on various quality indicators and also have higher long-term survival rates than hospitals treating fewer patients.

Hospitals that are too noisy: what sound levels should we aim to really promote healing?

The experience of certain hospitals plays a big role

“Our research clearly demonstrates that hospitals that have more experience with uterine cancer obtain better results in terms of quality of care and survival,” specifies Professor Dr. Amant. Treatment of this form of cancer is often complex and requires a multidisciplinary approach, according to Kom op tegen Kanker. “Patients with rare or complex cancer are entitled to the best possible care,” underlines its general director, David Vansteenbrugge.

Uterine cancer is a disease that often occurs after menopause. Due to the aging population and rising obesity, the number of cases worldwide has increased. In 2023, 1,410 women will be diagnosed with uterine cancer in Belgium.
