USA Megastorm: Guarulhos Airport Flight Cancellations

The megastorm that has hit the United States since Friday (23) has already caused impacts on at least nine flights at Guarulhos International Airport, in São Paulo.

According to the airport’s internal report, six arrivals and three departures were affected, with the majority being rescheduled to other dates.

A CNN Brazil reached out to airlines and other international airports to clarify the situation. See positions below:

Latam Flights

In a note, Latam Airlines Brasil had already informed that they would have flights departing or arriving in New York and Boston, scheduled between the 24th and 26th, canceled or possibly delayed.

According to the company, the measure aims to guarantee the safety of passengers and crew. Furthermore, he stated that he has no control over the changes that occur.

The company was contacted again about an assessment of how many flights had already been affected. So far, there is no detailed information about the trips.

Other companies and airports

On the other hand, the GOL Linhas Aéreas stated that it only operates flights to Miami and Orlando and “operations are normal”.

Also to CNN BrazilAzul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras said that the company’s operations were not affected, as it “exclusively operates flights to Florida”. The region was not impacted by adverse weather conditions.

Embraer (Empresa Brasileira de Aeronáutica S/A) and ABR (Brazilian Airports) did not respond at the time of publication of this article.
