On 5 December 2025, President Donald J. Trump issued a note instructing US Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to align the US childhood vaccine schedule with that of “peer, developed countries” such as Denmark. In practice, this would remove most vaccines from the US childhood schedule. On 5 January 2026, Kennedy kept this promise and removed six vaccines from the childhood schedule.
