The government of US President Donald Trump sanctioned Giovanni Vicente Mosquera Serrano, one of the “key leaders” of the Train of Aragua on Tuesday (24.06.2025), the State Department reported.

In February, shortly after returning to power, Trump designated the Venezuelan band of Aragua, as well as six Mexican cartels and the MS-13 gang, in a blow to organized crime in Latin America.

Since then the Republican president has the Aragua train at his point of view. In March he signed a decree that invokes a law of foreign enemies of the 18th century to stop and deport migrants suspected of being members of the organization.

United States sanctions “one of the key leaders of the Aragua Train”, an organization that “has launched a horror campaign” in the Americas, the State Department reports in a statement.

Among the most wanted

Mosquera Serrano is accused of having supervised the “drug trafficking and murders on behalf of the Aragua Train in Colombia.

It is also suspicious of “extortion” and having “managed the economic benefits from the criminal activities” of the band.

The State Department offers a reward of up to 3 million dollars for information that allows you to stop or condemn it.

In addition, the US Federal Police (FBI) reported on Tuesday that Mosquera Serrano will be added to its list of the 10 most sought after and the Department of Justice announced that it will open a case to instill it for “drug trafficking and criminal activities related to terrorism.”

As a result of the sanctions, all the goods and participations of the sanctioned that are in the United States or that are held or under the control of Americans are blocked.
