Thousands of demonstrators marched in the streets of major American cities on Friday January 30. They came to denounce the arrests of the federal immigration police (ICE), the policies of the Trump administration and the deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, two American demonstrators, killed at the beginning of January under the bullets of federal agents, in Minneapolis (Minnesota). Their deaths sparked a wave of indignation across the United States, as demonstrated again by rallies in San Francisco, Boston, New York, Washington, Denver, Houston and Los Angeles.
On Friday, Donald Trump sharply criticized the demonstrators, calling them“insurgents”d’“agitators” and of “funded troublemakers” by “professionals” of rebellion. Many signs explicitly called for the departure of federal immigration police from certain cities with the expression « ICE out »which has become one of the slogans of the protest movement.
