Washington – March 2 (KUNA) – The governments of the United States of America, Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, in a joint statement on Sunday night, strongly condemned the missile and drone attacks targeting the Gulf states and other countries throughout the region, as they expose civilians to danger and cause damage to civilian infrastructure.
The joint statement published by the US State Department stated, “The United States of America, Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE strongly condemn the indiscriminate and reckless missile and drone attacks launched by Iran on sovereign territory throughout the region, including Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.”
He added that these “unjustified” strikes targeted sovereign territory, endangered civilians, and caused damage to civilian infrastructure.
He stressed that “Iran’s actions represent a dangerous escalation that violates the sovereignty of many countries and threatens regional stability,” stressing that targeting civilians and countries not participating in hostilities is “reckless and destabilizing behavior.”
The joint statement said, “We stand united in defense of our citizens, our sovereignty, and our lands, and we reaffirm our right to self-defense in the face of these attacks.”
He added, “We also affirm our commitment to regional security and praise the effective cooperation in the field of air and missile defense, which prevented much greater loss of life and broader destruction.” (End) AMM/HSS
