From August 6th to 11th, 2025, the Óbuda island will become the center for music fans from all over the world in the heart of Budapest: the Sziget Festival is one of the largest and most diverse music festivals in Europe. For six days, international top acts and exciting newcomers are on the program on the inside of various genres. From pop and rock to hip-hop to electronic sounds, everything is included. For the Sziget Festival you should pack smart: water bottle (preferably foldable and reusable), sun protection and headgear are mandatory, because there is enough sun. Comfortable shoes are also a must, because you are on the road all day. A small wallet with a little cash and ID card should not be missing, of course. Earnuts, a mini-first aid set and a power bank for the cell phone are also practical. So you are well prepared for six days full of music, sun and unforgettable moments.
Next Stop: Island!
If you want to be climate -friendly to the Sziget Festival, you have the best options from Austria: by train or the Flixbus you will be in Budapest in around three hours. It also goes by bike, for example on the Danube Cycle Path, if you want to start the adventure on the go. If you want to be faster, take the plane and come to the festival directly by shuttle with the CityPass. In Budapest itself, the Hév railway or the 4/6 tram almost bring you to the Óbuda island.
Camp or Comfort?
The Sziget Festival offers various accommodation options. From authentic camping directly on the festival site to comfortable hotels in Budapest, everything is included. Classic festival camping is included in the ticket price and ranges from the simple camp to exclusive options such as glamping or caravan zones. However, these must be booked in advance. There are numerous hotels and hostels in Budapest for those who prefer to want more comfort or want to explore the city. Many of them offer special Sziget packages and deals. So you can perfectly combine festival feeling and city adventure.
Updated Line-up, Same Energy
As we already know, this year’s line-up brings a lot of big names to Budapest. Among them are Post Malone, Shawn Mendes, Charli XCX, Anyma and Chappell Roan. However, there was a surprising change recently: A $ AP Rocky, originally announced as a headliner, canceled his appearance together with many others. But Sziget would not be Sziget if he had not been found to be a top -class replacement immediately, nobody less than Kid Cudi. The US rapper takes over the slot on the Main Stage and brings goosebumps vibes with tracks like Day ‘N’ Nite or Pursuit of Happiness. A line-up change that can be seen and heard.
