5:45 am: Before the start, Keegan Swenson was seen engaging in a unique pre-race routine, appearing to ground himself with his eyes closed.
5:50 am: The elite men’s race has begun in Emporia, Kansas!
6:05 am: The pro women are off, embarking on their Unbound Gravel journey.
6:05 am: Torbjørn Andre Røed surged ahead early, establishing a 10-second lead over a large peloton of approximately 80-100 elite men.
6:16 am: An update from the 350-mile Unbound XL, which commenced yesterday afternoon: Lachlan Morton has covered 305 miles in fifteen hours, closely pursued by Rob Britton at 301 miles. Heather Jackson leads the women, having completed 258 miles, followed by Serena Gordon at 248 miles.
