Latvia to Host “Sunflower Road” March in Support of ukraine

The annual “Sunflower Road” support march, organized by the charity association “Your Friends” (TaviDraugi) and the embassy of Ukraine in Latvia, will proceed on Sunday, August 24, Ukraine’s Independence Day.
The “Sunflower Road” event commences with a gathering at the Freedom Monument at 11:45 a.m., proceeding to Kronvalda Park and concluding at the Taras Shevchenko Monument at 1:35 p.m.
For the fourth consecutive year, “Your Friends” is organizing the “Sunflower road” to demonstrate support for Ukraine amidst ongoing conflict. Participants are encouraged to display sunflowers and ukrainian symbols.
The gathering at the Freedom Monument is scheduled for 11:45 a.m., with the march commencing at 12:15 p.m. Remarks will be delivered by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Latvia, Anatolij Kutsevols, Ulvis noviks, head of “your Friends”, Anna Andersone, co-founder of the “Entrepreneurs for Peace” foundation, and Reinis Pozņaks, initiator of the ‘Twitter convoy’ initiative.

A Ukrainian souvenir shop and donation point will be open at Freedom Square, near the Freedom Monument, until 8:00 p.m. Donations of tea,three-in-one coffee,sweets,nuts,dried fruits,instant food,canned goods,hygiene products,and men’s clothing (socks,underwear,t-shirts,tracksuits) for soldiers are encouraged.
