In an overnight attack on the northern region of Sumy, Ukraine, at least 14 people sustained injuries, according to Ukraine’s prime minister.Among the wounded was a family that included three children.

Local prosecutors reported that the assault involved 15 drones targeting the Okhtyrka area. The attack occurred early Wednesday morning.

Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko stated on X that the children injured in the attack, which struck a residential neighborhood, were 5 months, 4 years, and 6 years old.

Svyrydenko condemned the attack, stating, “Russia continues to manifest its fears through acts of pure terrorism across Ukraine, once again targeting the homes of families and their sleeping children.”

Escalating Attacks on Ukrainian Infrastructure

The Ukrainian air force reported that Russia launched a total of 93 drones and two missiles overnight. They claimed to have downed 62 drones and one missile,but hits were recorded at 20 locations.

Ukraine’s State Emergency Services reported a “massive drone strike” on the southern region of Odesa, resulting in one person wounded and a important fire at a fuel and energy facility.

Officials in the Izmail district of the Odesa region reported damage to port infrastructure in the city.

Attacks on Ukraine’s energy sector have intensified recently. One strike ignited fires at an oil depot belonging to SOCAR, an Azerbaijani state oil company, while another damaged a gas transport facility in the central region of Poltava.

The Energy Ministry reports that Ukrainian energy facilities have been attacked 2,900 times as March 2025 alone.
