Efforts toward a trilateral meeting, potentially mediated by the U.S., emerged after former US President Donald Trump engaged with Vladimir Putin in Alaska and afterward hosted Volodymyr Zelensky and other European leaders at the White House.

Volodymyr Zelensky has expressed his openness to meeting with Vladimir Putin in “any format.”

Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto proposed Budapest as a possible location for a summit on Thursday.

However, Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s close ties with Moscow, and previous frustrations of EU support for Ukraine, might make Hungary a less neutral choice.

Speaking to reporters, Volodymyr Zelensky mentioned asking Donald Trump to pressure hungary to remove obstacles to Ukraine’s EU membership negotiations. “Trump promised that his team would work on this,” he stated.

Volodymyr Zelensky also reported that Russian forces are concentrating on the southern front line in the Zaporizhzhia region, one of the four regions Russia claims as its own. “We can see that they continue transferring part of their troops from the Kursk direction to Zaporizhzhia,” he said.

Ukraine’s air force reported 614 aerial vehicles in Russia’s overnight attacks, with 577 reportedly intercepted.

Foreign Minister sybiha detailed that the aerial attacks included a mix of drones, hypersonic, ballistic, and cruise missiles.

“One of the missiles struck a major American electronics manufacturer in our westernmost region, leading to serious damage and casualties,” he shared on social media on Thursday.
