Echoing this sentiment, US President Donald Trump expressed confidence in the possibility of an impending peace agreement. Trump highlighted what he perceived as a significant shift in the Kremlin’s stance, noting that Russia no longer seeks to fully conquer Ukraine. Ending the war and not taking the whole country? Escalating Attacks Undermine Diplomatic Efforts

while negotiations continue, the conflict on the ground remains intense. Recent reports indicate a surge in Russian attacks across Ukraine. In the eastern city of Kharkiv, Iranian-made Shahed drones caused damage to residential areas and sparked fires. Moreover, a recent air raid on Kyiv resulted in at least twelve fatalities. These attacks have drawn criticism, including from President Trump, who directly appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin, writing on truth Social, Vladimir, stop! Ukrainian authorities are investigating the use of a North Korean-produced ballistic missile in one of the attacks. President Zelenskyy condemned this alleged collaboration, stating, If the facts about the production of this rocket in North Korea is confirmed, this will become further evidence of the criminal alliance of Russia and Pyongyang. Though, the origin of the rocket is still under investigation.

Zelenskyy also reported approximately 150 Russian attacks on Ukrainian front-line positions and over 4,500 instances of shelling with heavy weaponry, with the Pokrovsk region experiencing the most intense fighting.

NATO’s Perspective: Russia as a Long-Term Threat

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, following a meeting with President Trump, emphasized the alliance’s view of Russia as a long-term threat.
