UK Critical Minerals: Starmer’s 10% Domestic Production Plan

by Archynetys Economy Desk

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer unveiled a strategy to make critical minerals at home and reduce reliance on the fragile global supply chain.

The aim is to produce 10% of the UK’s mineral needs domestically and 20% through recycling by 2035, according to a statement on Saturday. At least 50,000 tonnes of lithium would be produced in the UK by 2035 and the government would back some £50 million ($65 million) of new funding to support local businesses, it said.
