When her sister Riley disappears, Mia embarks on a desperate investigation to find her. Her obsession leads her on the trail of a group of paranormal hunters, of which her sister was part, arriving in the mysterious town of Shelby Oaks. The more she delves into the past of that dark place, the more the boundaries between reality and paranoia begin to dissolve, and Mia begins to think that the imaginary demon she and Riley believed in as children might actually exist.
