UB Dorm Fire: Latest Updates & Safety Info

BRIDGEPORT — The city Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a mattress fire that occurred at a University of Bridgeport dormitory, an official said.

The fire broke out on the second-floor of Chaffee Hall at around 5 p.m. on Saturday, Bridgeport city spokesperson Shawnna White said.

The fire was put out in less than five minutes after crews arrived, without any injuries, White said.

There was no further information on the fire reported as of 10 a.m. Sunday.
