A little practical question for both of you, or for someone who knows, since I don’t know much about levels, lines and so on…
I use a Nux Mighty mk2 20 (an all-digital emulation thing), until now alone by activating the integrated emulations (amp, noise gate, overdrive, modulations, ect).
I will therefore order something more qualitative, probably as mentioned above an Origin Effect Deluxe 55 coupled with a Universal Audio OX Stomp for cab and effects simulations. The drawback of the latter is that it does not have a headphone output, nor an auxiliary input (for playing on “backing tracks”). So I’m thinking of testing this duo of pedals in the Nux, by completely deactivating all the simulations mentioned above, so I’ll end up with a DI sound and I’ll see if the pedals sound good in there.
My question is the following: is it preferable in this context to enter my pedalboard through the usual jack input, or rather through the auxiliary input In?
Thank you!
I won’t be able to answer you too much because I don’t know the Nux Mighty mk2, but I’m not sure that you get optimal sound with this kind of configuration, the only way to know is to try but it’s not guaranteed.
I think that the UA pedals are best connected to a sound card, or to a mixing desk, because they have a line type output level and not an amp.
For my part I have a small Steimberg UR22C sound card which works very well, it’s not a pro card but it’s hi-fi quality, I can enter the computer with it, but also listen and play/record on playbacks all connected to my hi-fi system with proximity monitoring.
On this Steimberg sound card, you can plug in headphones, and therefore play, hear the guitar and playbacks and even record on your DAW without disturbing the neighbors.
Otherwise for the choice of the “Origin Effect Deluxe 55” preamp pedal which I don’t know, the feedback seems super positive and it seems to be able to adapt to an amp directly or to a sound card with IRs in front (such as the OX UA)
Origin Effect Deluxe 55, according to the specifications, is supposed to reproduce the legendary amplifier with the 5 E 3 circuit, in fact it is very attractive and it made me want to try it.
According to feedback from Thomann users, you shouldn’t need the OX to plug it into your Nux amp.
