Pop culture festival launch in UAE postponed

The largest pop culture festival in the Middle East, Middle East Film & Comic Con Abu Dhabi, has been postponed from April to September 2026. Organizers have officially announced new dates: instead of April 24–26, the event will be held September 11–13 at the ADNEC Center Abu Dhabi.

According to the organizers, the change in dates will make it possible to prepare a more eventful program for fans of comics, cinema, games, anime and cosplay. The festival traditionally features celebrity meet-and-greets, gamer zones, panels, costume contests and exclusive merchandise.

Following the announcement of the postponement, many fans inquired about the possibility of ticket refunds, especially those who had already booked travel and hotels for April. Organizers have confirmed that refunds are available upon request through ticketing partners. Those who booked their stay through an official HotelMaps partner will be assisted in transferring their booking.

Most fans reacted positively to the news, noting that the extra time would allow for more exposure. Already purchased tickets remain valid for the new dates and holders do not need to make changes to existing bookings.

Organizers have promised they will announce new entrants, attraction details and updated ticket details in the coming months in preparation for the rescheduled event.
