Representatives of the An Giang Provincial Veterans Association and the U Minh Thuong Municipal Party Executive Committee presented a congratulatory banner to the congress.
During the past term, U Minh Thuong Community Veterans Association participated in the mediation of 235 cases, successfully concluded 193 cases; in cooperation with military authorities and mass organizations, the law on military service was effectively disseminated; after 5 years, 158 citizens were entitled to join the army to protect the fatherland, which means that the set goal was 100% achieved; 11 of these citizens were children of veterans.
The community veterans association transferred a total of VND57.7 billion to the social bank to enable 1,178 members to take out loans to improve their family economy. He also mobilized VND400 million in contributions for the construction of new houses and the rehabilitation of six houses for members as part of a program to clear makeshift and dilapidated housing.
The board of directors of the U Minh Thuong Municipality Veterans Association for the term 2025 – 2030 received the appointment decision.
For the period 2025-2030, the U Minh Thuong Community Veterans Association has set seven goals, five task and solution areas, and two breakthroughs. The aim is to have no poor members according to the multidimensional poverty standard by the end of the period and to reduce the social bank’s delinquent loan rate below 0.8%.
According to the decision announced at the congress, the board of directors of the An Giang Provincial Veterans Association appointed the board of directors of the U Minh Thuong Municipality Veterans Association for the term 2025-2030. This consists of 23 comrades. Comrade Tran Van Nghiep was appointed chairman of the association for his eighth term.
