Defender Tyson Barrie, who made himself known for his attacking talent, announced his retirement on Monday at 34.
The British-Colombian spent the last season in the organization of the Calgary flames after converting a professional test into a regular contract. However, it was not used excessively, having to settle for three points in 13 games.

Barrie has also been sold to the American League for the first time since 2013. He was an autonomous player since 1is July.
Having started his career with the Colorado avalanche, he succeeded three seasons of 50 points and more before being exchanged at the Toronto Maple Leafs. He then went to Edmonton’s Oilers, leading all defenders of the National League with 48 points in 56 games during the shortened campaign of 2020-2021.
In February 2023, the Oilers involved it with the hope of Reid Schaefer and a choice of first round in the megatransaction which allowed the Alberta team to get their hands on Mattias Ekholm, predators of Nashville.
During her 822 game career, Barrie amassed 508 points. He added 21 points in 47 duels of the playoffs.
