Two Male Whales Caught Copulating 2024-03-03 04:54:56

by drbyos

An unusual event in the world of marine science was captured by the cameras of two photographers who were on an expedition near the island of Maui, in Hawaii.

This is the first photographic evidence of anal penetration during sexual intercourse between two male humpback whales, something never before seen or recorded in the scientific literature on these species.

The images taken were analyzed by the photographers themselves, Lyle Krannichfeld and Brandi Romano, who realized that they had witnessed unique and surprising behavior.

Their photographs were sent to researcher Stephanie Stack, from the Pacific Whale Foundation, based in Maui, who led the study published in the journal Marine Mammal Science.

“They shared the photos with me for my opinion, and when I saw them, I was shocked,” says studio director Stephanie Stack.

“Humpback whale copulation has never been seen or documented before anywhere in the world,” added Stack, considering that this “is a very special and amazing encounter.”

Meanwhile, a National Geographic study points out that knowledge about humpback whales has improved significantly in recent years, thanks to the use of new monitoring tools and drones. Likewise, the collaboration of amateurs and scientists with cameras has allowed us to obtain a greater number of useful observations.

Hctor Llaituls Lawyers Consider The Trial That Begins…

In this episode of “Humanly Speaking”, we immerse ourselves in a deep conversation with Javiera Ainardi and Victoria Bórquez, two prominent criminal defense lawyers of Héctor Llaitul, recognized spokesperson and historical reference of the Mapuche resistance organization, the Coordinadora Arauco Maluco (CAM). . The opportunity for this interview arises before the imminent start of the oral trial against Llaitul, scheduled for March 12 and projected to last at least a month and a half.

This trial represents, in essence, a continuation of the State’s political persecution of the Mapuche cause, finding in Llaitul an outstanding symbol of the resistance of this people-nation. As they explained to us, Llaitul has been brought to court on more than eight occasions, the most recent being the scandalous setup of Operation Hurricane, which culminated in the dismantling of the Carabineros high command. In this specific trial, the aim is to penalize the political opinions of Héctor Llaitul, who on three occasions has expressed his disagreement with the institutions of the Chilean State and has called for the Mapuche resistance. These political opinions are being persecuted as a result of actions initially presented by Piñera and expanded by the current Boric government.

The persecutory nature is evident not only in the disproportionate penalties that are sought to be imposed as a result of these actions,
