On the second anniversary of the establishment, in a survey conducted by United Surveys, we asked the following question: “How do you assess the work of the Prime Minister and his cabinet so far?”.
“The Three Worlds of John Scherer”. The expert encourages you to try it
Taking into account the overall results, the largest group are opponents of the current government, although their advantage over supporters is not overwhelming.
Answer “definitely negative” indicated up to 39 proc. respondents. It completes the group of dissatisfied people 11,5 proc. respondents who assessed the government’s work “rather negative”. This means that the government’s critics group slightly exceeds the 50 percent mark.
On the other side of the barricade, the mood is moderately optimistic. Because only 8.7 percent respondents rate Donald Tusk’s government “definitely positive”. The group of moderate supporters is much larger – 33,3 proc. respondents chose the answer “rather positive”. In total, 42 percent gave positive ratings. society.
Answers “I don’t know/it’s hard to say” granted 7,5 proc. study participants.
Concrete electorates and an interesting group of “others”
The survey clearly shows how the perception of the government depends on voting preferences. Voters of the Ruling Coalition (KO, Third Way, Left) they stand behind the prime minister. In total, as much as 85 percent of them rate the government positively, with:
- 19 proc. evaluates it definitely positively,
- 66 proc. – rather positive.
Only 9% of people in this camp have a critical opinion about the government. respondents (6% rather negatively and 3% definitely negatively).
We see a mirror reflection of these moods among… opposition voters (PiS, Confederation). Here the disapproval is overwhelming:
- Until 75 proc. evaluates the government strongly negatively,
- 15 proc. rather negatively.
Only a handful (8% in total) of opposition voters find any advantages in the government’s actions.
In the “other voters” group, positive opinions predominate (49% in total, including as many as 42 proc. indications “rather positive”). 25 percent have a negative opinion about the government. subjects. It is worth noting, however, that in this group there is the highest percentage of people who have no opinion – as many as 26 proc. replied “I don’t know/it’s hard to say”.
Young people are critical, metropolises are delighted
A broader analysis of the results shows that the assessment of the government is strongly dependent not only on party sympathies, but also on age, gender and place of residence.
Men are more radical in their assessments. Among them, the rating “definitely negative” was chosen by as many as: 45 proc. respondents, while among women this percentage is 33 proc. Women, in turn, more often chose moderate answers (“rather positively” – 37 percent) and were less likely to have a strong opinion (10 percent answered “I don’t know” compared to 5 percent among men).
The generational divide is interesting. The greatest skepticism towards the government is visible among the youngest voters. In the age group 18-29 lat the total percentage of negative ratings exceeds 60%. The “stronghold” of Donald Tusk’s government, however, turns out to be older people 50-59 lat and seniors over 70 years of age – positive assessments predominate in these groups.
Your home address is also crucial. Here the polarization is most visible. Village is definitely critical. Until 58 proc. rural residents have a negative opinion of the government, most of them (46%) definitely negatively. Large cities (over 500 thousand inhabitants) it is a “stronghold” of the current government. Up here 62 proc. respondents gave the government a positive assessment. The lowest percentage of undecided people was recorded in metropolitan areas – only 2%.
The United Surveys by IBRiS survey for Wirtualna Polska was conducted on December 5-8, 2025. The survey was carried out using the CATI&CAWI mixed method (computer-assisted telephone interview and online survey). The sample was n=1000 adult Poles.
