by drbyos

TORINO – From tomorrow, Thursday 11 December, and up to and including Friday 12 December 2025 – the day of the next check – the level 2 anti-smog measures (red). The decision comes in light of the forecast data provided by Arpa Piemonte, which indicates that the threshold of 75 µg/m³ of PM10 has been exceeded for three consecutive days, a value that automatically triggers the highest alert level envisaged by the regional traffic lights.

Traffic restrictions

With the transition to the red level, in addition to the usual structural limitations, the total ban on diesel vehicles used for the transport of people and goods up to the Euro 5 category. The ban is active every day, including holidays, from 8am to 7pm.
A large fleet of vehicles therefore remains idle in the garage, in particular older vehicles, considered among the main causes of fine dust emissions.

Stop restrictions during the strike

Something new concerns Friday 12 December: due to the local public transport strike, all environmental limitations will be suspended. The measure aims to guarantee the possibility of movement for citizens on a day when buses and trams could be stopped or reduced.

Checks and updates

As usual, any changes to the anti-smog traffic lights – and therefore to the restrictive measures – are communicated on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, based on the analyzes of the forecast data on PM10, and come into force from the following day.
