CUERNAVACA – On Monday night, an intense police operation broke out in the tunnel that connects the express step with the commercial squares, in Cuernavaca, after the attempted theft of a truck that culminated with the alleged criminals fleeing on foot.

Elements of the Municipal Police, State Police, National Guard and the Mexican Army were deployed in the area to find those responsible, generating a strong mobilization that alarmed passers -by and motorists.

According to anonymous police sources, the incident began when a group of criminals tried to steal a BMW truck that was driven by a woman. However, the woman got off the keys and ran towards the Express step to ask for help.

The criminals tried to start the unit, but when they did not achieve their mission, they were running, but not before making shooting in the air.

So far,no injuries or arrests related to this fact have been reported,but the operation continues in the commercial area to locate those responsible.

Another witness recounted the attempted robbery: “I was two cars from where the attempted robbery occurred, they wanted to wear a van and apparently the lady took the key and the assailants shot inside the bridge (uneven) but there are no injured, to the drivers who stayed there they already took us out and only the police and the truck that wanted to take,” said a witness who witnessed the facts.
