For many students in Tucson, summer isn’t just about relaxing; it’s a chance to delve into teh world of science, technology, and engineering, thanks to We care Tucson. The organization is providing these opportunities free of charge.
We Care Tucson’s Tech Robotics Camp, now in its third year, aims to introduce STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) concepts to youth from underserved communities. The non-profit ensures that anyone can participate by removing financial barriers.
“Our mission is to remove the barriers,” said Meme Aguila, Executive Director of We Care Tucson. “So we don’t ask anything of anybody, so anybody can sign up.”
The camp receives funding through grants and donations from organizations like United Healthcare, Tucson Electric Power, and Cox Media, among others.
