Trump emphasized to the graduating class the significance of their entry into the Army, asserting that previous political leaders had misused the military for unintended purposes over the last two decades. He characterized himself as a “peacemaker.”

Addressing the cadets as “winners,” Trump reiterated his “Golden Age” agenda and criticized his predecessors for having “dragged our military into missions.”

“It was never meant to be,” trump stated. “It wasn’t meant to be. People would say, why are we doing this? Why are we wasting our time, money and souls. In some cases, they sent our warriors on nation building crusades to nations that wanted nothing to do with us, led by leaders that didn’t have a clue in distant lands, while abusing our soldiers with absurd ideological experiments here and at home. All of that’s ended.”

Trump added, “As president, I am laser focused on our core national interests, my preference will always be to make peace and to seek partnership, even with countries where our differences may be profound.”

Trump contrasts Military service with Business Careers

The president voiced his disapproval of the business sector, deeming it “boring,” and instead lauded the virtues of “honor” and “sacrifice.” He suggested to the graduates that their decision to serve in the military was “better” than pursuing lucrative careers on Wall Street or in Silicon valley.

“Rather of sports teams and spreadsheets and software, you chose a life of service, very critically important service,” Trump said.

“As president,I am laser focused on our core national interests,my preference will always be to make peace and to seek partnership…”
