Reality TV stars Todd and Julie Chrisley, known for “Chrisley Knows Best,” may soon be released from federal prison following a pardon from President Trump, announced Tuesday.
The White House announced that President Trump is set to pardon Todd and Julie Chrisley, who were convicted in 2022 of tax evasion and bank fraud. The couple gained fame on the USA Network series “Chrisley Knows Best,” which showcased their family life.
The White House also shared a video of President Trump speaking with Todd and Julie’s daughter, Savannah Chrisley, who has publicly decried her parents’ conviction.He informed Savannah that he would be granting full pardons to her parents.
A legal representative for the Chrisleys has not yet responded to requests for comment.
In Atlanta, a federal grand jury had indicted Todd and Julie Chrisley on charges including tax evasion, conspiracy, and wire fraud. Prosecutors alleged that the couple submitted false financial statements to obtain loans worth millions of dollars between 2007 and 2012. After a second indictment, Todd, 56, and Julie Chrisley, 52, were convicted on all charges in June 2022.
That November, Todd Chrisley was sentenced to 12 years in federal prison, and Julie Chrisley received seven years, plus 16 months of probation each. In September 2024, Julie Chrisley was resentenced, but a federal judge upheld her seven-year sentence.
As her parents’ convictions, Savannah Chrisley has been vocal about her disagreement with the verdict. She has alleged corruption in the court proceedings and described the “nightmare” conditions of her parents’ prison facilities. She has also discussed plans to appeal their convictions on her “Unlocked” podcast, “The Masked Singer” and at the Republican National Convention in July, where she supported President Trump. At the RNC, she claimed her family “was persecuted by rogue prosecutors in Fulton County due to our public profile …and our conservative beliefs.”
savannah Chrisley shared news of President Trump’s intentions to pardon her parents on Instagram. She said that President Trump called her personally to inform her that he was signing the pardon papers for her parents and that she “vows” to stand alongside Trump and continue to expose “corruption.”
