The Minister of Economy, Commerce and Company, Carlos Corpora, has ended some first “very constructive” meetings with the working groups of consumer goods and industrial products in order to share information on the trade agreement closed last week between the United States (USA) and the European Union (EU).
Sources from the Ministry of Economy have explained that in these meetings there has also been a balance after the application of tariffs by the United States in the last four months to know the impact and the effects, both direct and indirect, which are suffering the express exporters Spanish.
The information collected aims to know the evolution of the needs of these companies to continue accompanying them through potential new measures that will be included in the Commercial Response and Relay Plan.
This response plan, which was approved on April 8, is Mobilization of a total of 14,320 million euros to create a security network for companies and workers that may be affected by the economic effects derived from the increase in tariffs announced by the United States. From the Executive, they have already advanced that, after the meetings of the affected work groups, they will update the plan.
In addition to the tariff scope, the Government has also raised companies how companies can help the improvement of their competitiveness and internationalization process.
The meetings on Tuesday, August 26, are the first with the working groups affected by tariffs. Tomorrow, August 27, the meeting with the group of food products and with chemistry and medications will occur. The meeting with the Working Group of Team and Electrical Material will take place on Thursday, August 28, in the morning.
