During a phone conversation on March 18, putin reportedly expressed a willingness to limit attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure as an initial gesture. However, he did not concede to a complete ceasefire, a point of contention for the United States.The subsequent day, Zelenski, in a separate discussion with Trump, also reportedly agreed to consider mitigating attacks on energy facilities.

The conflict has had a devastating impact on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. According to recent reports from the World Bank, damages to Ukraine’s infrastructure are estimated to exceed $150 billion, with a notable portion attributed to attacks on energy facilities. These attacks have left millions without power and heating, especially during the harsh winter months.

Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski announced that meetings involving delegations from the U.S., Ukraine, and Russia are scheduled to take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on March 24.The proposed structure involves a meeting between Ukraine and the U.S., followed by a meeting between the U.S. and russia, or potentially parallel meetings addressing a common agenda.

As far as I understand, the structure is such that there will be a meeting of Ukraine with America, and then of America with Russia. Or they will be parallel meetings in one country on one topic.

The ukrainian Ministry of Foreign affairs clarified that the discussions with the U.S. are anticipated to be technical rather than political, focusing on defining parameters for various ceasefire proposals currently under consideration.

This is a meeting at wich the parameters of the proposals for the different fire termination variants, which are at the negotiating table today, must be determined.
