A truck driver drove drunk on the Autobahn 81 near Dietingen (Rottweil district) – and caused an accident and hit-and-run. It later emerged that the man had 3.8 per mille of alcohol in his blood.
At a construction site on Saturday morning, the man hit a concrete wall with his truck and trailer and took down several warning beacons, the police said. So he just kept driving.
Witnesses react quickly
A witness reacted quickly, noted the license plate number and alerted the police. A little later, the officers stopped the truck at a logistics center near Bondorf (Böblingen district) and discovered that the driver was very drunk. A blood sample was ordered and the man’s driver’s license was taken away. The police asked witnesses for information about possible further damage or danger.
