– It is demanding to get a budget together, but when we made such clear promises in the election campaign, we have to fulfill them in the budget, says former Ap deputy leader and current Storting representative Trond Giske to TV 2.
The Center Party is furious after the Labor Party removed both the free ferry and the cancellation of student debt in the districts in the state budget. Both parts were important victories for the Center Party, which have now been reversed in the budget proposal presented by the Labor government last week.

The Labor Party itself said in the election campaign that the free ferry should continue, and threatened that the right-wing would remove the scheme with cancellation of student debt.
Giske is clear that it must be “sorted out”.
– Who sorts it out together with the Center Party is less important than that it is sorted out, says Giske.

Adopted proposal
On Monday, the board of the Trondheim Labor Party, following a proposal from Giske’s local association Nidaro’s social democratic forum, adopted a unanimous and strong criticism of the government’s state budget, Adresseavisen reports.

Trondheim Ap believes the removal of the student loan deduction and cuts in the free ferry scheme are not in line with promises in the election campaign. The party believes the case damages the Labor Party’s credibility, and that it particularly affects local party members and elected officials.
Now Trondheim Ap demands a clean-up.
