Trévoux Explosion: Victims Reported – Latest Updates

A powerful detonation was heard several kilometers away in Trévoux on Monday, around 6 p.m. The Ain prefecture invites the population to avoid the places.

A violent explosion rang out late Monday afternoon, around 5:30 p.m., on the heights of Trévoux (Ain). The explosion, which occurred in a small building near a high school, caused the collapse of part of the facade and left at least five victims “medicalized on site”announced the prefecture in a report. As a safety measure, the school building neighboring this residential building was urgently evacuated.

“Emergency is on site”writes the Ain prefecture on X, calling on the population “to avoid the area”. A security perimeter has been set up. “Research continues” to find other potential victims. Fifty firefighters, 36 engines and medical emergency services are on the scene, she added in a press release.
