TikTok Video Shows Ultrasound Technician’s Lack of Empathy Towards Pregnant Woman

A pregnant woman, already anxious after a fall, sought reassurance at an emergency room, only to be met with what she describes as a “cruel” and unempathetic ultrasound experience.

A young american woman, pregnant and concerned after a fall while walking her dog, went to the emergency room alone while her husband was traveling. With her first follow-up appointment still two weeks away, she hoped for some reassurance. Rather, she encountered an ultrasound technician who she felt lacked empathy.

“If this gentleman does not want to do this job, he should not do it”

According to the woman, the technician said in a neutral tone, “I don’t see anything,” before stating that an internal ultrasound was necessary. When she began to cry,she says he asked her, without any compassion: “Why?” The video, which she posted on TikTok,captures their interaction and,she says,”shows how much a lack of benevolence can worsen anxiety.”

In the video’s caption, she wrote: “I was worried, I had slipped, I was bleeding … and I was welcomed like that. If this gentleman does not want to do this job, he should not do it. It was just cruel.

When I express I’m scared and you know I’m bleeding plus slipped… just cruel. #healthcare #healthcareworker #rude #tw #sonogram #pregnant #ER #babyonboard #complaint #hospital #visit #pregnancy #texas
