HEARTBREAKING tributes have been paid to Gareth Richardson, a “loving husband” and “adored daddy,” who tragically passed away in a workplace accident. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and community.
Tragic Accident and Immediate Response
On Friday, January 10, Gareth Richardson sustained severe injuries in an electrocution incident at Annvale Road in Keady, County Armagh. Emergency services, including police, ambulance, and firefighters, arrived at the scene shortly after 10 am.
Gareth was swiftly airlifted to the Royal Victoria Hospital for treatment. Despite advanced medical care, he fell into a coma and succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday, January 22, bringing an abrupt end to his life at the age of 52.

A heartfelt notice circulated online described Gareth as a “loving and devoted husband of Sarah, dear father to Travis, Ella-Marie, Jorgie, and Bradley, cherished son of Ann and the late George, valued brother of Nigel (Julie) and Darren (Dorothy), and beloved uncle to Jake, Becky, and Curtis.”
The family expressed their gratitude to Willowbank Surgery in Keady, the Ambulance Service, Rapid Response Team, and the staff of the Royal Victoria Hospital ICU for their care during this difficult time.
Funeral Details and Community Support
The funeral service for Gareth Richardson is scheduled for Monday at 1:00 pm in Thomas Street Methodist Church. A committal service will follow in Kernan Cemetery.
Instead of flowers, the family requests donations to the Northern Ireland Air Ambulance, a gesture to honor those who provided life-saving services.

PJ McAllister of Portadown Football Club said: “We pass on our heartfelt sympathies to Gareth’s wife, children, mother, brothers, and the whole Richardson family circle at this sad time. Gareth was a member of the Hillhaven Flute Band, and the group remembered him fondly: “Paddy always had a great sense of humor and the best character to be around. He will be sorely missed by all.”

Many memories of him from Shamrock Park, in the town, always a good laugh and a conversation. Taking from his family far too soon.
