Simpson had just welcomed the birth of his daughter Lyla eleven days before the attack, making him a devoted father to four children. Bobbie, now 26, is left to raise them alone.
Recalling the Last Conversation
Bobbie reflects on the brief argument she and Calum had before he left for what would be his last night out.
“The night Calum went out, we’d had a few words and he left on a bad note,” she says. “It was nothing serious, but I’ll forever regret it because those were the last words we ever spoke to each other.”
When he didn’t return, she felt annoyed that he had left her to care for the children. “When the police arrived and told me he was dead, my world fell apart,” Bobbie shares. “I was shocked and heartbroken when I learned he had been attacked and raped.”
A Relationship Built on Laughter
Bobbie and Calum met at a party in 2015 when she was 17 and he was 18. They fell in love immediately.
“He was funny, kind, and incredibly handsome,” Bobbie remembers. “We had our ups and downs, especially because we were young, but we were deeply in love.”
