Job Fair Highlights
The event featured booths from multiple government agencies, creating a one-stop-shop for job seekers within the 4Ps program. Graduates must first register and complete an orientation on the services provided by these agencies. Afterward, each participant will receive PHP3,000 in financial assistance to cover pre-employment requirements such as medical examinations and transportation costs.
Roles and Initiatives
The responsibility of coordinating with potential employers has been entrusted to the DOLE. The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) will offer upskilling training sessions to the 4Ps members, ensuring they possess the necessary skills for employment. Additionally, the DSWD’s Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) will host a “Sulong Trabaho” booth to inform the beneficiaries about its Employment Track.
Assessment and Assistance Fund
DSWD Assistant Secretary Florentino Loyola Jr. stated that benefits received by 4Ps beneficiaries who secure employment during the fair will be assessed. Upon successful assessment, their application will be processed at the NCR regional office. Eligible beneficiaries will receive a slip at the SLP booth to present at the regional office for payment of their employment assistance fund (EAF).
Graduation Ceremonies
The 4Ps National Program Management Office (NPMO) will organize a series of graduation ceremonies named “Pugay Tagumpay” across the nation. These ceremonies celebrate the households ready to exit the program, primarily those achieving self-sufficiency.
Background of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps)
The 4Ps is the Philippine government’s flagship anti-poverty initiative, which seeks to break the cycle of poverty through cash grants aimed at children’s education and health needs. It targets families with children aged below 18.
Impact of the Job Fair
This job fair represents a significant step towards enhancing employment opportunities for those transitioning out of the 4Ps program. By equipping these individuals with financial assistance and necessary skills, the government aims to empower them and their families to lead more financially stable lives.
Conclusion
The “Trabaho sa Bagong Pilipinas” job fair underscores the government’s commitment to helping Filipinos achieve self-sufficiency and improved living standards. Through initiatives like this, the 4Ps program demonstrates its role in shaping a brighter future for thousands of families.
