Tottenham & Thomas Frank: Viral Arsenal Cup Photo Explained

by Archynetys Sports Desk

Thomas Frank had a small blister ahead of the 2-3 loss to Bournemouth.

The Danish Tottenham manager drank his usual cup of espresso before the game on Wednesday evening. The news agency PA is among those who have photographed him smiling with the cup in his hand.

What Frank didn’t know was that there was an Arsenal logo on the cup. The league leader was at Bournemouth’s arena last time (January 5), and the cup has probably been left behind after that game.

Ignore the logo

The photo has received a lot of attention on social media, and after the overtime loss against Bournemouth, Frank also had to answer questions about why he drank from a cup with the logo of Tottenham’s biggest rival.

– I didn’t notice that at all, said the Dane.

– It would be incredibly stupid of me to have a cup with Arsenal on it. I normally drink a cup of espresso an hour before a match. I actually think it’s a bit sad in football that I have to be asked that.

Going in the wrong direction

Tottenham have only one win in their last six games. Frank thinks he has other and more important things to think about.

– Football is definitely going in the wrong direction if you have to worry about me drinking from a cup with another club’s logo. I would never do that. It’s incredibly stupid, said Frank.
