The Toronto Police Service (TPS) is requesting the public’s help to identify a suspect linked to a series of alleged hate-motivated vandalism incidents targeting synagogues in the northern part of the city.
according to police reports, the suspect vandalized signs on the front lawns of three synagogues located along Bayview Avenue, between Finch Avenue E. and Lawrence Avenue E., on Sunday, May 18, 2025.
The suspect is described as a middle-aged man of medium build with facial hair.He was reportedly wearing a dark green sweater, a dark-colored baseball hat, and light-colored pants.He was seen driving a grey Ford pickup truck, according to the TPS.
Suspect Linked to Previous Incidents
investigators believe this individual is the same person involved in similar suspected hate-motivated vandalism cases that occurred in December 2024,in the area of Bayview Avenue and York Mills Road.

The TPS stated that on December 2 and December 20, 2024, a man matching the same description, driving a dark grey Ford pickup, vandalized signs on the front lawn of a synagogue before fleeing in his vehicle.
