It’s now time for the knockout stage of the NBA Cupafter the Raptors, Lakers, Knicks, Magic, Heat, Thunder, Spurs and Suns qualified.
Each of these eight franchises is now guaranteed to earn money through this “In-Season Tournament”, and here are the amounts of these different bonuses, which are still increasing (by around 3% per edition). Logical, since it was stipulated in the league’s last collective agreement.
Quarter-finalists : $53,093 per player and coach, compared to $51,497 last year
Semi-finalists : $106,187 per player and coach, compared to $102,994 last year
Finalists : $212,373 per player and coach, compared to $205,988 last year
Winner : $530,933 per player and coach, compared to $514,971 last year
If the coaches’ bonus is therefore equivalent to that of the players, the assistants will share 75% of the sum. As for the “ two-way contracts », they will only receive 50% of the premium. No bonus is cumulative.
As in the first two editions, the semi-finals and the final of this 2025 NBA Cup will take place in Las Vegas. But, from next season, only the last match will take place in Nevada.
Two-way contract : designed to create a new bridge between the NBA and the G-League, this type of contract allows each team to secure the services of two or three additional players, in order to play them mainly in their affiliated development league franchise, but also for up to 50 matches in the NBA.
